Advantages-Disadvantages of 5G internet
Are you aware of 5 G technology? Do you know its impact on communication? In recent years, with the advent of smartphone technology, you may have surely seen different developed aspects of data transfer technology. There has been a different generation in this developed communication system. You would have come across 3 G,
then it was transformed to 4 G LTE, and now there are whispers about a 5g version on this horizon. Though it has not seen in the mainstream yet, there is a discussion about the new and advanced features and innovations it will cause in the world. Undoubtedly the mobile and network companies claim to bring a lot of benefits for consumers, but there is another side of the coin too. Here in this article, I am giving a view of harms it will bring about.
Less coverage with increased bandwidth
When 3 g cell towers were installed, they were capable of covering a large area with fewer cells. The network did not need much bandwidth. Fewer cells were deployed for the purpose. With 4g networks, there was more bandwidth. The coverage radius became smaller. The signals dropped more often than 3 g networks.
These are facts that you may have experienced. Now when 5g networks come into the function, this trend may get even worse. For large bandwidth, there will be a need for more towers because existing cell may not come up to as many spaces as 3g and 4 g cell. The result will be less coverage than expected.
Problematic radiofrequency Radio frequencies are used in radios, cell towers, and satellites. All these communication instruments operate through these frequencies. The measurement of frequency is done in HZ and radio frequencies work in the GHz range. As the reports suggest, the 5g network will transmit its communicated data in 6GHz. There are a lot of other signals in this frequency. Now, 5g will even add to this crowd. With this overcrowded GHz frequency, how will the new data signal get speed? How will you get and send a message? It will become apparent when the new system starts.
The companies will need substantial investment and enormous expenses for up-gradation and deployment of 5g technology. A lot of changes are required. Some mobile infrastructures will surely need a total overhaul. So there will be a lot of expenditure, and all his will prove costly for consumers. Most of the existing set up is not compatible with 5 g. how will this be replaced without costs.
A complete up-gradation will also be time-consuming. There will be arrangements and replacement involved in this innovation.
Privacy and security
Because of a higher frequency, there may be a lack of signals. With the penetration of signals in buildings and walls, there has been a privacy concern. There are a lot of flaws in 5 g. it may take time to solve issues that may arise in the coming future.
